Examinations

Jazz and Tap students are prepared for Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) exams and Ballet students are prepared for Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams. All exams are internationally recognised. ISTD exams are generally held in August/September and RAD exams are generally held in October/November. As exams are organised in London, entries and fees need to be finalised well in advance. Dates for entries and exams will be confirmed closer to the time. In order to enhance individual progress and provide incentive for improvement, encouragement is given to the students to take exams, although these are in no way compulsory.

To ensure a high standard, extra classes will be held at the studio close to exam time. These are compulsory for those students wishing to sit exams at a cost which will be advised at the time. Santarelli School of Dance is proud to report a 100% success rate in 2009 across all dance genres.
